News releases are provided by the Poison and Drug Information service to draw media attention to:
- Emerging poison and drug issues. Part of the function of the Poison and Drug Information Service is to provide surveillance and education for the Alberta public, and to alert the public when a significant issue is taking place
- Important education and poison prevention events such as Poison Prevention Week or safety fairs
- Seasonal poisoning issues. Alerting the public to the changing nature of poisoning dangers as seasons change is an important component of poisoning prevention.
Media Inquiries:
The Poison and Drug Information Service responds to a large number of media inquiries and interview requests. We are always happy to respond to media requests.
